Default Shell Station on 466 now no name fuel.

Tried to fill car with good gas at Shell, went in and now no-name and they still charge as much, fortunately the other Station is still Shell.
Getting bad if one can not buy good name-brand gas that you know is refined well.

The "magic" does not happen at the refinery. Bubba gets the same gas as Shell, but Shell adds their snake oil after they get it from the refiner (probably Koch). The Circle K gas meets the same Top Tier standard as Shell.

As someone familiar with the refinary business I know that some refineraries do a better job than others. Tests in the lab showed that. I want to know what I am buying, good refined fuel and not tank bottom.

Gasoline arrives in Central Florida via a pipeline shared by every oil company. There's no way to know who refined the oil or where it came from. Kinder Morgan - Central FLorida Pipeline Co.

I have a Shell rewards card that I could use at any of the shell stations, now the only one it will work at is at 466 and Southern Trace. Use to use it at highway 42 and now that station is Circle K. Wonder why they all changed except for the one station? What dis-pleases me is having to buy fuel with ethanol. Up north all premiums did NOT have ethanol. I got 4 mpg better in my Harley without ethanol and 3 mpg better in the car. Now I have to buy a additive to protect the aluminum parts on the Harley and the golf cart. Course you can buy fuel without ethanol from the Villages golf cart store for a very inflated price for your golf cart.

I suspect they could not compete with Walmart selling Top Tier gas (Shell).
Car maker approved Top Tier gas is more expensive because of the better additives.

Marathon is on the Top Tier list and they also sell Rec90 ethanol-free gas.

Here is the latest Top Tier brands:

How would one know if the name of the fuel is not displayed? Maybe they should be given a sticker saying they are Top Tier approved. Prefer to know what I am putting in my tank. Only used no-name in rental cars. Would buy ARCO if I could get it. Found Shell V Power keeps engine clean. Don't need STP.

I looked at your link and do not see Walmart or Sams on the Top Tier list and could not find any online source that says they sell Shell fuel. Costco does appear on the Top Tier list. Can you supply a reference for the statement you made?

gas is gas!

Those who think they can discern to the 5th decimal point may notice a difference but it all comes down to the critical 6m inches.....the space between one's ears!!!

A single pipeline can be used to ship different products. Markers, called pigs, are put in the pipeline to separate and identify products. So you could have Shell hi-test followed by diesel followed by whatever with each separated and identitfied by a pig.
