Smile Garage Screen Door

Hi Villagers - I would like to have a garage screen installed and would like any recommendations you can offer. Also, not sure which is the way to go - sliding doors or electric? Thanks for any advice you can offer

We had a screen installed and love it. It is a slider. That way if we want to walk out from the garage we only have to slide a small section open. We did not want the overhead because the entire screen had to raise to go in and out. Also, if you get a slider you can open it enough to get just your cart out and it slides from either side. We also have the privacy screen in white on ours. We can see out but it is hard for others to see in. Good luck!

We have the full screen installed by Micheles hide away screens. No cross bars in it. I like to sit in the garage and watch what's going on outside. Have the white screen...easy to see out and blocks people from looking in to see what might be there.

Glad to hear that you like your slider. Can you tell me what company that you used? I'd like to get at least three prices to compare them. Thanks a lot!

Default garage screen door

Had a automatic screen door installed by Thumper Doors in June, I love it,
keeps garage cooler, i can leave door to house open, and the breeze flowing
through when the cooler weather hits. With an auto door, you can hit the remote 3-4 doors away and the door is opened up by the time you get your cart or car there. Thumpers does a good job, great cleanup, and had a lot of
recomendations from other villigers. You also get a remote opener with
a code number to open from the outside if you do not have the remote with you.

A slider will not work in a villa with less than a 2 car garage. In the CYV and some of the other villas the driveway is on an angle and you need at least 3/4 of the width to get in. This eliminated the slider. I decided to go with the sectional type from Retractable Garage Screen Doors aka Steve Grindle and couldn't be happier with the door and Greg. You may want to check your deed restrictions as you might need approval from ARC especially if you decide on a color other that white. I went to the ARC meeting a coupe of weeks ago to understand what and more importantly how they make their decisions. I was pleasantly surprised how organized and how informed each of the members are.
