Default Can't do it myself

Need a reference for insulating my garage doors. I can't do it myself so no need to send me to Lowes. There is someone that usually has a booth at the various events on the squares but I can't remember their name. Thanks for any help.

Just had ours done by Ro-mac. After they install the insulation it's important to have your garage doors balanced, since you will now have a different weight on the doors. Ro-mac does the balancing as part of the job.

If I may ask. Single or double door and cost? Was doing the insulation effective?

Not sure all readers understand. Your garage door is only partly raised and lowered by your garage door opener or you manually opening it. You are not lifting the entire door the springs that you see across the top of the door or the older system with springs on the sides vastly reduces the effective weight of the door that you are lifting.

The springs are powerful and can badly hurt you if you mess with them.

As to insulating a garage door. Any insulation slows down the transfer of heat. When you open your garage door a big opening, heat will flow in or out rather quickly. I would expect garage door insulation will reduce sound and if the sun hits your garage door it might keep your garage a little cooler-IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR.

There are different products, such as rigid foam sheet and flexible bubble material, as well as different radiant barrier coatings. Does anyone know which is the best? My west-facing garage gets up into the high 90's in the summer.

Had the thick styrofoam sheets added to my SSW-facing garage...Garage doesn't get over 90F now.
Another benefit is that the garage doors are quieter in operation.
Ro-Mac at $500 seems like a good choice because they can do a garage door service at the same time.
