Lightbulb CenturyLink Disclosures

I recently changed from Comcast (TV, Internet and Phone) to CenturyLink. For the record, it costs more period. Internet speeds are <10MB which is acceptable, however something they DID NOT disclose is that no matter how many TV boxes you pay for on the Prizm TV, you CANNOT have more than TWO watching HD at any time. Great for the first two persons, but when number 3 or 4 want it, sorry.... HD NOT AVAILABLE.

Not really a complaint, but just want others who will get this service to know in advance of signing a contract for the TV. There is NOTHING they can do for us now as Prizm only has two HD feeds for every home serviced.

Hope this helps someone!

Good to know. Thanks for the heads-up.

When/if you change again, Centurylink charges a 12.00 disconnect fee.

Default Prism

We had Prism installed on May 2, but had 30 days to decide if we liked it or not.

It is now gone, I returned the boxes today.

We are continuing with CenturyLink Internet and Phone. The 10mbps speed download seems fine so far. Ran 2 concurrent Netflix streams and the golf channel live on my iPad for 2 hours with no problems. I'll do this test again over the next few days.

Even though we didn't really want a satellite dish we have gone with DirecTV, having a couple of installing issues with two of the receivers but I am sure that will get resolved.

We had Comcast TV and Internet for many years but we got tired of the constant price increases.

Default Century Link

I to switched to Century Link. Had to argue for 2 days to get the price I signed for. Yes the picture is good BUT I will be leaving at the end of 1 year. Internet & TV freeze from time to time. Your right on the 2 shows being watched or taped to bad for the third. Oh yea and you pay for use on faxes .

We have Prism and have been pleased. We don't have the higher premium channels ie. HBO, Starz etc. We did have the "freezing" with our t.v. but the technician came out and exchanged boxes and it's been fine now. You can record "4" shows at one time but 2 have to be non-HD, so if that's not an issue (and it's not with us) you should be fine. We have the bundle with our landline, computer and of course the t.v.'s. Had Direct TV for about 15 years and we've not looked back. Guess it all amounts to what you're looking for etc. OH...and it's cheaper than the Direct TV as well........

Had Direct and Dish and didnt like losing tv in a heavy rain storm Prism is fine no complaint. If tv freezes turn modem off once a week and problem is gone.

Default Internet only

I know I may be the only person that this applies to, but all I want is Internet. The only TV I watch is Netflix over the Internet (I could go for Amazon Prime or iTunes), and I use my cell phone exclusively while in The Villages.

It is VERY difficult to get the straight price (not the introductory offer).

Does anyone know the best price/service for Internet?
