Default Concrete contractor - recommendations?

I'd like to expand the 4' x 4' concrete slab on the walkout of the lanai to a concrete patio. Got 2 estimates: T&D was double the price of Edge concrete - but Edge concrete doesn't return calls, never returned to pick up signed form to submit for ARC review so I am done with them. Anyone had similar work done, recommendations? Explained to T&D that they were way more and they said they are well aware, wouldn't cut me a break. For the small work I want done, I would bet there are other reliable contractors who are just as good but not as expensive. Do you have recommendations? Thanks!

I do not know the coast off concrete down there but up north it is about 80.00 a yard and most places charge for 3 yards if you use all off it or not. You should see if other people are going to be doing any off the work around you and maybe work a deal. If you all use the same person

Just my thinking or try to do it your self. from home depot. with ready mix concrete.

I had T&D do mine 8 X 10 $500 they moved the sprinkler heads, removed the 4 X 4 and filled in the sod against the finished product. I did not get estimates because the price sounded good. 2 years ago

Bite the bullet and go with T&D. In the end you'll be extremely happy you made that decision. I know I am.

Default You'v'e convinced me, will go with T&D

Thanks so much all, I will go with T&D. Their quote for a 8' x 12' plus permit was around $1,000. Elevatorman thanks for your info- very helpfu. I am now considering an 8 x 10 based on your comment, that size might just work for me. I'll line off the area and put 2 chairs out there which is all I want to put out there on the few occasions I want some sun. Don't plan to put a grill or leave any chairs out there permanently, just catch some sun once in a while.

We've had Robert Robey do two little jobs for us; one was an 8 x 10 slab over two years ago and another was a 3 x 5 walkout just recently. Very good work and very reasonable. His number is 352-753-2462.

I regretfully used Robert Robey Concrete & Masonry to install my concrete pad. He lied to me regarding obtaining an approval with the Architectural Review Committee. During our price negotiation, he assured me he would take care of the approval, when in fact, he didn't bother to do so. When I called him on his lie, he expanded on his lies and said I would have the approval sheet the following week. Guess what? MIA. The man in my opinion is a dishonest contractor and shouldn't be allowed to do work in The Villages.

Sorry to hear this. Are you having problems with the slab he poured? Maybe it depends on the level of work or changes you are doing whether you need architectural review or not. As I said before, we were pleased with the two small jobs he did for us and some work he did outside TV in which my husband was involved.

Default Edge concrete

I just used Edge concrete to add the patio off my newly installed French doors. They did a terrific job, at a VERY reasonable price, and I am pleased with the finished product. I would recommend them again.
