Default Hot tub maintenance

We just got a hot tub. Who do we get to maintain it and what should it cost?

How easy is it to maintain yourself without turning into a Petri dish?

We maintain hot tubs on her own for almost 20 years. There’s test kits and chemicals and some hot tubs have automatic dispensers. some don’t use any chemicals at all. depends on which Hot tub you buy. Who installed, did they offer weekly service?

There are several choices, we are currently using T&D pool and Spa services, $17.50/month, if it goes any higher, I will probably start doing myself. As mentioned above, there are kits a videos on how to do this ONCE a WEEK task. For the T&D service, this includes all chemicals, and if there is a problem (cloudy water for example), I have never been charged for these. When I had the 3 years inspection by the manufacturer rep, he comments on how well and clean the spa was, so it appears they do a very good job. Now, this level of service is highly dependent on the technician doing the work. I like to go out and talk to them, make a friendship, and ask what they are doing, I think this helps with getting better service.
