Default Curbing

We are thinking about adding curbing to our landscaping.I am from up north and I know this curbing would not last one winter in Pa.
Looking for information from folks that had curbing installed in The Villages.
Are you happy with the curbing?
Who installed the curbing?
Thank you.

Yes..happy...but would have to search to find the name to pass on later. We originally wanted a stacked wall but saw that in some older areas they suffered the effects of black mildew. Since bleach would kill the plants, we went for cappuccino colored curbing with the same color of stones for an earthy effect. It works! We also bermed the garden beds in a couple of places to avoid a flat look. The company did everything and replanted some big trees as well. We did have to correct them several times and stay on their backs though so I won't post their name after all. They were not the type you could leave alone and come back and say what a great job without being there every minute if you know what I mean.

My neighbor used American Kwik Curb. They did a good job and it looks nice.

I've seen those walls being cleaned with a pressure washer with good results.

We had our stacked wall cleaned and sealed, no mold so far. Cannot help with the curbing as we have never had it. IMHO, get estimates for both, you maybe surprised at the cost difference. We also like the stacked wall, as you can change it if you change you landscaping. We just did that, and a lot of the old wall was reused in the new wall.
As for your original question, no freeze thaw cycle, so from what I have seen these hold up well.

We bought a home with curbing around the trees and gardens. All good, except the magnolia roots broke up the curbing around it. No good solution, as curbing companies have a minimum pour. For one tree base it didn't make sense. However, we are now stuck with finding a satisfactory solution.

Bottom line, looks great but make sure tree roots don't shove your curbing out of place.

Another vote for All American Kwik Curb. 352-266-4539. Great workmanship at a very fair price.

We used Chris Leitz 353 857 4453 He is a landscaper. When he did curbing for our yard he increased the space around he tree we had in our front to be bigger than what Villages had done to make space for the roots when the tree grew.

Search for "Chris Leitz Landscaping" and you will find his web page.

We are very satisfied with the results.

The only thing that has broken our curbing is repeated collisions by the gardener on his lawnmower

I have a few bids and all contractors claim that the work does not need prior approval.
Is this correct? If not,I nned to get more bids.

Two thumbs up for them; did an excellent job curbing our new landscaping by Village Palms.
