Default Cushion Floor??

I have an enclosed carport that the previous owner had carpeted. The carpet is now smelling musty and we are looking for options. Have been told to use tile but suspect the humidity in that room (while we are back in Canada) would attack and blacken the grout.
Would cushion floor be a better solution?
We have also looked into the acrylic concrete coatings but that is a very expensive option..
Any opinions would be very welcome!

It's my guess that any absorbent material will give the same result. If you can't tighten the room to eliminate the moisture, then a non-absorbent material is the best answer.
An acrylic coating or tile would work best.
