Default Lawn Services & Conflicting Sprinkler Head Recommendations

Our new home's irrigation system came with Hunter MP rotators (shoots multiple streams of water). Things seemed to be working well and we were pleased with our lawn.

Our lawn service inspected the irrigation system and recommended replacing most of the MP rotators with SRM rotors (which shoot a single stream). They promised more efficient water usage, so we opted for this "better" system. It made sense. Whether or not it is actually more efficient is open to debate. With their setting, we think we over-watered the lawn.

We ended up switching to another lawn service company. They found at least one zone now has a combination of 2 different heads--something they avoid doing since it can lead to the uneven application of water. They recommend replacing the SRM rotors with MP rotators. This will take us back to where we started! We think we were "taken to the cleaners."

So, after this long-winded tale, can anyone offer their opinion on the merits of either SRM or MP heads? Has anyone run into irrigation services recommending head switching?

Thanks!

These links explain the advantages of the two types of heads to which you are referring:
SRM

MP
