I got a letter from Dean's who I do not hire for anything to renew my termite protection. I didn't know I had any. Other takes on this? This is the first anniversary of closing on the home I built.

Our house is 2 years old, so things may have changed. The first year termite protection in our case was done by Deans. Cost was on the builder for first year.

Look around in your garage. You may see a Deans sticker somewhere. TV also uses other companies like Massey, but I would think that if Deans sent you a letter, they did the original treatment on your home. This may have been transparent to you unless your builder mentioned it during the walk through. I think ours mentioned it, but of course, there are a lot of details to take on at that time.

Either Massey or Deans did the original termite protection on your new home. So I guess yours was done by Deans. There are many opinions on whether to pay them or use someone else or not pay yearly at all....

We were done by Massey and got the letter. We are going to do the termite protection yearly because the downside is great so might as well spend the money.
