Default Satellite dish location

We are moving to TV in August. Here in Wisconsin, we have cable tv, but from what I am reading here satellite might be a better option than Comcast. My question is whether you have to have the dish pre-approved by the Architectural Committee, or if there are standard exceptions for where it can be placed. If we have to wait for the approval process, it seems like it could be weeks before we could have any service installed, and that might cause severe withdrawl if I can't watch my sports.

Check this thread. I know television antennas are not allowed, but how about........ This has been discussed by others.

Thanks very much. That seems to deal with the issue. I wouldn't wnat it in the front yard anyway if it could be placed in back.

We moved down in mid-May. Obtained the form that has to be forwarded to the Architectual Review folks, sent it to them from Ohio and the first week I was here got a call that is was ready to pick up. In other words - no muss - no fuss. The process of having the DISH technician install the dish, unpack my receivers that I brought with me, again, no muss-no fuss, and one of the best executed "processes" during our transition to TV. Wish I was as satisfied with the quality of DSL from Centurylink....
