Can anyone please recommend an honest reliable duct cleaner? I am smelling dust when the heater comes on.

I had a Munns person here, and of course it didn't stink while he was here! He cleaned around and inside the heating unit area, but after he left, it started stinking again, so that didn't help. So I called Munns again, and they said their person in charge of scheduling duct cleaning would call me back. After my calling them 3 times about this, they still haven't called me.

I have had this done in a previous home up north, and they hooked up their hoses wrong, and blew a huge poof of duct dust & gunk into a bedroom. Ugh, it was really bad, so I don't want anyone who doesn't know what they're doing!

I did a search on this forum, but couldn't find anything.

I would appreciate any suggestions! Also how much they charge would be helpful too. Thanks!

I used Mid-StateDuct Cleaning (Tony- 352-425-1533) to clean my ducts two years ago and last year used him to clean out my dryer vents and would recommend him highly. His prices are very reasonable.

We had our ducts cleaned last Sept. They were done by Desmond Harris, Covenant Janitorial. I high recommend Desmond. He did a fantastic job, very personable, pleasant and professionable. If I had to have this done again I would choose Desmond Harris.

Agree on Desmond Harris. Just had my dryer vents cleaned and dryer is working so much better. He also replaced our smoke alarm batteries while here. We had new batteries, just hadn't done it yet. Very reasonable too.

What is the average price Desmond is charging for AC Duct cleaning for a 1500 square foot house ?

Curious what the ball park is ? 200, 300, more ?

I believe Desmond doesn't do a/c ducts, he just cleans out dryer vents, not the same thing.

Amazingly, I just had all my air ducts cleaned out a week ago, after having major construction work done in my house which left a lot of drywall dust and tile dust and was killing my sinuses. My contractor recommended a company to clean the ducts and his comments were that these people had the BEST type of method and expertise that he had ever seen. He was right. I was having severe breathing problems before they did their work. They came out with long hoses and literally scrubbers on the end and went into each and every vent and then sanitized and cleaned out my a/c unit. From that evening on, the air in my house is so fantastically clean and light, it was a tremendous difference.

I would highly recommend TCB (Taking Care of Business) Duct Cleaning 352 867 9949. I also had him install a UV light inside the a/c unit which will also clean the air even more and kill any mold that might grow within the unit. I have severe allergies and will do anything to avoid sinusitis and pneumonia. I am very pleased with their expertise and they are very nice men. Tell them Kathie sent you... lol...
