Default Enclosing LANAI

Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions for a person/company to enclose our lanai? We have a CYV with screened in area which we would like to have enclosed.
Not sure how to find a qualified, reputable and reasonable option.
Thanks in advance.

We used KB construction 3 years ago and very pleased. Google the name and check their website for pics.

T&D has done most of the new construction of Lanni's and Birdcages for the Developer. Lots of people, lots of trucks and have a reputation to uphold if they expect to keep doing the developers work. Probably the lowest risk since they have been here for a long time and with the new construction going on will be here for years to come. They did ours and have had zero issues in the two years we have had it.

Magellan did ours and did a fantastic job. Call John Shackles at 352-454-0576.

Custom Windows in Leesburg off 441. They have a showroom. We got the stackable sliders which stack open so you don't lose the open feeling when you want the open air but slide closed during bad weather. We've had them for 3 years and they're great. Custom was a good company to work with.

Are you speaking about enclosing your lanai with just the aluminum framed windows or enclosing the lanai as a "real" room that looks like part of the house? There's a BIG difference in the look and price.

We enclosed ours with real windows and doors, raised the floor to be level with the living area, removed the sliding doors, etc. and the room is fabulous. We didn't want a lot of glass because it would have been too hot, even with window treatments. We're not sorry we did it this way and is a beautiful addition to the rest of the house.

Johnny Mellado did our construction and after getting 4 bids, his was the least expensive and his work is quality. We saw a similar type room he had previously done and were pleased with that result. His phone number is 352-504-2676

Good luck with your choice in whatever you decide to do!

Nice post by Mrs. Robinson but be careful of tax consequences if it's considered another room and not a lanai.

Is it allowable to ask what a ballpark figure? If I need to give more details I can, though I don't know what is possible. I don't pay property tax, long story, but still don't want it to be counted as another room.

Too many variables. Call at least 3 companies and get free estimates.

I have my research to do. Basically learning the lingo and technical terminology. Just learned what a LANAI is a couple months ago

To be basic... I'd like floor to ceiling storm-proof, (maybe) sliding glass windows that open to screens when wanted, and a glass door to get to the grill.

Are permits needed for this?

Yes but company you hire will handle getting permits. Go to Custom Windows in Leesburg showroom and see the different styles and weights of glass.

Custom Windows just enclosed my Courtyard Villa lanai today.

Professional team! Great job! Satisfied customer! They will even be providing one complementary lanai window washing.

I am sitting here enjoying it right now! PM me if you have questions or want more detail.
