Default Vinyl Screen Door Needs Trimming

Can anyone suggest where we can get our new screen door trimmed about an inch?

Or a reasonable handyman

The door is 36" x 80" and needs about 1/2 inch trimmed on both the length and the width.

Generally screen storm doors are manufactured in only 2 size widths 32 or 36 with adjustment plate on the bottom.

I think you are out of luck, unless the door is SOLID vinyl. Most of the ones I have seen are extruded (aka hollow) vinyl which is ultrasonically welded to make the frame, trimming will seriously weaken the door. I would contact the manufacturer of the door to see if it can be trimmed. If it can be, then you will need to find someone with suitable equipment to get a smooth finish, and while I could easily trim the door, I do not know how to get a smooth finish on vinyl.

I saw your other post seems logical your lanai opening was sized wrong when built installation build error.

According to the instructions:

...Easy to trim with wood cutting tools (Up to 3/8in off each side, 1/2in off top and bottom)...

I will leave this to some of the other handymen if they are interested, if you get no replies, send me a PM and we can discuss over the phone. I have the tools but would want the door brought to my house for trimming. (Near Brownwood)
