Default Lake Advisory Group

Has anyone done business with this firm, and more specifically with Shawn Santos?

Prizmz, We just went to a presentation by Skip West from Lake Advisory Group. We are going to meet one on one next week. I will let you know more than. From what I know (little) they are Life Insurance / Annuities sales. This is something I am interested in right now because I am looking at ways to avoid taxes. It burns me that we work all our life and pay taxes and then when we retire - more taxes. His presentation was good and he brought up some interesting points on distribution of type of investments. One little guideline he mentioned had to do with being more conservative the older you get. The guideline was to have a percentage equal to your age in fixed investments. e.g. at 65 65% at 70 70%. That made sense. He said don't invest in anything you do not understand (also makes sense). More later.

Be sure you understand the pluses and negatives of annuities and life insurance for the retired..I would suggest also talking with a full service broker such as Charles Schwab for their suggestions. Good Luck..
