Have you noticed that they are not as reasonable as they used to be? One poster paid them $250 to have a water heater drained and flushed.

And expensive! At least the last time I had them out. I was charged $250 to simply flush the water heater tank. Nothing else.

I had an unexpected experience with Mike Scott. The Village Plumber was my goto until the last experience.
I thought I had flushed something plastic down the toilet but it did not clog. I called Mike Scott plumbing and explained in detail what happened, and asked if they would come out. I was told not to worry if there was no clog. Free. Later that day I found the piece of plastic, so I hadn’t actually flushed it. Their advice was correct. |

I have never heard anything good, just prices that are far too high. I don't know why folks use them.

I stopped up my garbage disposal, so I called a plumber I had used before, Mike Scott. This was on a Monday. Soonest they could come was Wednesday!! So, I had to call Frank Gay. They were almost $100 more than Scott, but they came that afternoon. So I had to pay for convenience. I was glad to get the sink back, so no complaints.

LOL, Way past "very", even "very VERY" does not adequately describe, I don't know how they keep getting customers after what they wanted from some family members of ours !

Obviously (as commented above), there is great (financial) diversity in The Villages. Some are willing to pay for convenience, it is what it is, others, can not afford the convenience. Family members were without hot water, but could not afford the (3 TIMES) the customary price so just had to make do until another company could get there. Was interesting that plumbers in the more customary/average price range are much further booked out ! ?

And we sure have MORE than our share of those here, and in every service and skills; landscape, heating/AC, electrical, appliance repair, FLOORING (some real gems in that category), garage "service" departments, etc. etc.

Well for some plumbing companies the people who work there post here on TOTV too as individuals. Reading between the lines pays off.

Of course, the thinking goes: we need the money and you old folks have it and won’t be needing it soon (and you’re too far gone to notice it).
