Question Need small engine repair

I need a recommendation on who can repair a gas pressure washer engine (can't get it to start). Has anybody found an individual or shop that does small engine work?

If so, a name, phone number, and location would be much appreciated.

I would try starting fluid first. If it does not start, then look at spark plug, if possible have someone pull the cord and check for spark. If the engine runs for a short time with started fluid, then I would look over the carburetor for dirt, etc.

While I do not do repairs as a business, I have repaired my own gas powered equipment, and helped a neighbor with theirs.
Hope this helps.

If you have any mechanical smarts I would first pull the spark plug see if you have spark, then I would remove the air cleaner inspect, with the spark plug out prime the combustion chamber (can of carb cleaner best to prime, it don't evaporate as quick as ether (starting fluid) and does have some lubrication properties. 2 or 3 second blast should be enough without flooding it. Put the spark plug in and try to start it. if it fires off the carb cleaner your main jet in the carb gummed up. I would keep trying priming it two or three times down the carb throat (Venturi) sometimes it will get the gas flowing and it will run. If you left gas in the tank while in storage without any additive it probably stale. Drain and refill with fresh gas. Done this many times and usually works. If you don't want or have clue then no choice but to pay the piper.
