Garage attic stairs and floor
We closed on our house last December but do not plan on moving in permanently for another few months or so. In the meantime, I'd like to get attic stairs installed and the garage floor epoxied before we do move down and fill it up.... From searching these forums, I can see this topic has come up before. However, the one's I found, appear to be somewhat out-dated and/or the vedor is no longer in business. Anyone have recommendations they can offer as of this writing? Thanks.

If you're doing more than just a solid color enamel floor, I'd strongly recommend Amy Newsom. 352-308-7410.
Amy did my driveway, walks, garage, lanai, and pad. She and her coworker did a sensational job. I am so glad I did this. The garage and lanai look so good and are easy to keep clean. A lot of folks have used Amy and there are a couple comments. Do a Search on Amy Newsom using the Show Post option. `

This is a long story so I will shorten it -
Back in 1983 a guy named Joe Clumsy over in the Historic Section accidently spilled a can of paint. Rather than waste it he decided to paint his lanai. His neighbor came over and said that looks pretty good, and painted his. Two months (and 47 lanais) later Fred Dizzy was about to paint his lanai when he dropped the paint can in the garage. He then painted the floor. His neighbor was to lazy to do the job so he hired someone. This is where I will shorten the story - jump forward to 2009. 53,783 paint jobs later - driveways, lanais, sidewalks, garage floors - little did Joe know he would be the start of a major economic recovery plan - spending money on something that doesn't need to be done. That said, I do have a painted and sealed garage floor. Easy to keep clean and looks good.

Can anyone provide a ballpark cost per square foot for concrete coating?
Also, the scuttlebutt in our neighborhood is that once you coat the lanai it become impervious to water. Hence, when it rains into the lanai, it tends to puddle more rather than get "sopped up" by the concrete. Is there any truth to this? |

If you are just painting the weep cuts in your concrete should still work - but a good question to ask when you get a quote. Get a commitment that it will drain the same after the job is done.
