Default Replacing appliances - what brand to buy??

Hi -

We are hoping to replace our appliances as we are updating our kitchen. I thought this would be an easy thing to do . . . but I have been researching different brands and now I am so confused. When I find, say, a good review of a refrigerator, I can't seem to find a good review of a range in that same brand! I am getting stainless and want them to match, so this is important to me.

Can anyone share with me their success in updating appliances and what brand you went with?

Thanks!

Mary Lou

Default Samsunk.....Samsink!

We just had new Samsung kitchen appliances delivered last Fri. Monday night we decided to make a pizza which requires a 500 degree oven. Would not even heat to 500 before oven sensor error light came on.....they agreed to either replace or fix....we chose fix & they're coming Fri. New side x side refrigerator touchpad would not easily switch from ice to water,,,,,called Samsung & new refrigerator arrives tomorrow! Have not tried dishwasher yet, but microwave seems OK so far. What a hassle combined with a move!

maybe the cheapo GE?!?
We have had GE for the last 40 years in every home we ever built. And just replaced the 10 year old stuff here to get the nrewer features of 2013/2014.

Maybe two service calls in 40 years. It is all a function of ones personal experience with a given product line.

They are as good or as bad as any other and many of their appliances are being brought back to the USA for manufacturing. Refrigerators are back in Louisville again after bouts in Mexico and any other cheap labor country....like they all are.

I wasn't able to match my appliances except by luck/blessing found a matching mwave to my range, which are in closest visual proximity. More important than style was to get advice on each type appliance for max function.
kitchen aid range/mwave
Samsung-- I'm loving the bottom freezer and bev door fridge
Bosch (quietest) dishwasher
Samsung stacked W/D is too smart for me, but sings a cute song when the laundry's done. (working on lyrics for the tune..)

Not a cheapo GE, top of the line. I also previously had good luck with GE so a few years back bought their top refrigerator. Biggest mistake ever. The new ones are no where near as good as what you had before. Plastic junk with poor design. Been repaired several times, makes all kinds of noise and freezes the vegetables. Never again with GE. Not the same quality you remember from before.

After a lot of research, we went with LG stainless steel appliances from Home Depot. After eleven months, we are very happy with them. The dishwasher is so quiet I have to look at the display to see if it is really operating.

Default appliances

I just bought the Samsung 31 cf refrigerator in stainless and love it. I am thinking about the LG gas, 5 burner, double oven stove with matching over the stove microwave and Bosch for the dishwasher. I looked at high end ranges and was not happy with the ratings. I cook and need a stove that's going to work for me.

I agree w batman911;
Do not get ge
My sister got GE profile, their top of the line, and has been very unhappy.
The more bells and whistles, the more prone for breakage.
