We are currently looking for contractor recommendations for a golf cart garage extension from our front spare bedroom (3/2 ranch style home). We’ve seen it done and hope is it a viable option.

I would get the house plat (plot) plans from the county to determine setbacks, etc, then sketch in what you want to do and go to ARC for at least an initial review. ARC will require a detailed set of plans from your contractor, but you might be able to at least see if your concept will fly before you invest a significant amount of money.
Also, what you see in one location may not be acceptable in another location.

We used Dimitri. Priced mid range compared to others and they did a good job. Code inspector said he didn’t have to look hard at their work because it was always good.
