We are in need of a good car mechanic -- we have a 1996 Toyota Camry Stationwagon (!). We were wondering if the mechanic's shop in Wildewood called Sumter Tire and Automotive is a good place and if anyone uses them? And any other suggestions? The car is old but a wonderful vehicle and we want to make sure it stays that way. Thanks!

I have an older car too, and I've been using Tri-County Automotive on U.S. 441. They were recommended to me by my brother-in-law who has been using them for a couple of years. I like them very much. The address is 13575 U.S. 441, just north of the Villages Hospital, across the highway from Denny's. Phone is 352-753-5400.

Hilton Automotive. North of the Villages on 441 at the corner of CR42. Myself and other friends have used them for over 6 years. They do not fix it unless it needs fixing.

Sumter tire is a great place. A friend just brought his car in for a front end noise. They told him it was a dry joint and did not require immediate attention. Another time I was paying for my oil change when a woman in front of me was reviewing her bill for a tune-up. She said they had not changed her air filter. The mechanic responded, 'Mam, you did not need an air filter.'

Thanks for all the info. Sumter Tire is really near us in St. Charles so I think we'll be going there, but I'm noting the others as well.
