Default Laminate repair

Can anyone recommend a person or company that will repair a laminate floor. The flooring was purchased at Lowes four years ago and installed by one of their contractors. But these installers don't do repairs.

I was looking for repairs a few months ago. Never did find anyone. I had 3 or 4 people come take a look, and they all told me it was too difficult, if not impossible, to "repair". I wanted about 25 boards taken up and new ones put down. I could get a perfect match from the same dealer. They all said there was no way they could do it right and suggested I do the entire room.

I will be anxious to see if you get any promising responses. I STILL need repairs.

I don't see why they say it can't be repaired, unless your floor was glued down. The job would be very labor intensive and you probably wouldn't want to pay the labor. The floor would have to be removed from the wall that it was last installed at and then work your way back to the spot that you want to have replaced. If your house is like ours, the baseboards have to come out before any of this. If your floor was glued, they can cut out the bad pieces and install new ones in their place. We had some replaced like that before.

I agree with getdul981, I had several of these floors in the house up North, and had to do exactly what was said above. Floor repaired very easily. Since I had installed the floors initially, I did the repair. I also agree this is a labor intensive job, and I will guess the 3-4 firms that looked at it figured the labor was several times the material cost and figured no one would go for that.

Try contacting a more general company, possibly a 'handyman' or similar may be able to do this type of job.

Good luck with your quest.
