Stipes Gutters just did my yesterday. 352-390-7744. It went great, inexpensive and looks great. But they do have to schedule you in. (they stay very busy it seems)

Please wait a while before getting gutters, in many cases these are not necessary, and can in some cases cause more problems than they "solve". The houses are built and the landscaping designed so gutters are not required. We added these to the front of the house only because we were getting stains on the driveway, years later we had problems with the front lawn, DUE TO THE INSTALLATION OF THE GUTTERS. If you still decide to get gutters, make sure that the downspouts are located to properly drain away from the house and to the landscaped drainage area.

BUT, there are a lot of houses built now without any landscaping along the sides and back.

Plus gutters move water away from entrances.

My house doesn't have any of the orginal landscape anymore. But in the example of this new Villages house, it sure looks like every bit of the water from about 40% of the house is going to land in the front flower bed, front door walkway...

We used M&M for gutters and attic stairs. Very good group to work with getting these projects done.

I think they might also be a sponsor of this forum.

The Solar Guys. Excellent work at a good price. Gutters are a must have during the July and August downpours.

Get quotes from Stipes +1 (352) 390-7744 I’ve used Stipes for three houses excellent each time. Definitely get 6” ones. Soar Guys 866-429-1335 solar guys also does attic insulation ( none is put over garage by builder), garage door insulation, solar tubes, and attic fans, and roofs I have used them for everything but roof and gutters but heard good things on those two services as well.

Well said. If your new house does not have gutters, it is NOT because the developer is cheap, but because the engineers have determined that they aren’t necessary, as all of the homes here are built on sand that allows water to flow into the ground with ease. Older areas with gutters were built with big drainage systems that collect runoff from gutters and send it to lakes and ponds and swamps or to septic systems that have to be filtered, as in Wildwood. If the rain is allowed to sink into the sand, the drainage system can be quite a bit smaller, and that saves you money, if everyone on your block puts up gutters, you could end up flooding the drains, and then you have water in the street.

Last fall at my house I measured 9” of rain in 24 hours. I live in a courtyard villa. The back is all concrete except for a 2 foot to 4 foot strip along the edge. While I do have gutters, at the time they leaked badly. (Someone had tried to save money by using eight foot scraps instead of one long piece, and all the water leaked through the cracks.) Nine inches of rain simply drained into the sand. I had no standing water on the concrete.

Save yourself several thousand dollars and don’t install gutters.

Don't rush into it. I have gutters and Hills installed them. If you truely need them I'd recommend Hills. However, I did rush into it because I thought it was the right thing to do. Now all of the water that comes off the long runs on the sides of my home is focused into two downspouts at each corner (4 total). Since the homes are close together and my neighbors have also installed gutters all the water from both their roofs and mine empty into small areas creating very wet spots in the lawn. I believe it would be better if there weren't gutters and the water was distributed along the whole length of the roof and not focussed into the four corner downspouts. That's just my opinion.
