Default Has anyone else had a problem with this airport driver?

I had used Jerry Schwartz a couple of times as a driver to the airport. Last August [2011] I pre-paid him for a round trip to Orlando airport for my sister and husband - $170. Flights were cancelled because of Hurricane Irene. Jerry said he would hold the money as a credit for when they did come down. In January 2012, I wrote him that they would not be coming down this year and could I have a refund. He said he understood and would send me a check. Since that time, I have e-mailed him and called him several times and have heard nothing. He does not respond. Three weeks ago, I sent him a self-addressed, stamped envelope and asked him to please return my money. I have still heard nothing. I guess he doesn't plan on returning my money. Has anyone else used him? Or have any ideas about how to get my money back? I would definitely NOT recommend him as a driver. This is unethical behavior.

Might be worth the few bucks to send him a certified letter, including copies of any correspondence. At least that way you KNOW he received the mail.

Crimes vs Seniors may be able to help you out. They're in the Sheriff's office on Rt. 466 near Morse. Great, concerned, helpful people.

Sorry to be morbid but there is a Jerry Schwartz who died Aug 21 2010 in Lady Lake. Could it be him or coul dsomeone have assumed his name? He was 68? I googled his name out of interest ( I am always after facts) and his name came up in an obituary in Lady Lake. Seems to coincidental?

This just occurred in August 2011 and I had received an e-mail from him in January 2012, so I don't believe it is the one who died in 2010, but thank you for checking it out. It is a coincidence.

I did contact seniors vs. crime and am going to see them next Tuesday, 04/17. They said they think they can help. I will let you all know.

I would just order his taxi service to a phoney street address, and wait around the corner and see how mad he would become. Did something like this years ago,he will pay up pretty quick.

I went to Seniors Vs. Crime located in the Sheriff's office on 466 and Morse Blvd. I brought copies of all e-mails and post office delivery confirmation. While I was filling out the form, they called Jerry , who answered! They told him who they were, why they were calling and he said he had sent a check. They asked him if it had cleared the bank. Of course, it hadn't since no check had really been sent. Anyway, he said he would send another. I got it Saturday and deposited today. Thank you Seniors Vs. Crime. A great volunteer organization.

the villages shuttle is a first class service. i dont understand why anyone would use a 'gypsy' service . there isnt that much of a savings!
