Default Our Rental Car Experience

We arrived at The Villages on Wednesday, July 3rd. We had reserved a rental car from Enterprise Rent-a-Car at Lake Sumpter Landing for the month we will be staying. Due to an hour and a half plane delay we were running late. The company closes at 5:00. As we were headed from the Orlando Airport to TV I asked the Van driver when he thought we would arrive at Enterprise. He said we would get their about 5:10. Since the next day was the 4th of July holiday, I called the company from the van and asked if they could wait 10 minutes for us. The guy brusquely told me there were two of them there and they both had places to go. So no......they wouldn't wait 10 minutes.

We needed a car so I called Hertz and spoke with Robert Meyers, the branch manager at 990 Main Street who couldn't have been nicer. He sent someone to pick us up from the house we are renting in TV. The price was the same as the other company and the insurance was better.....and so was their attitude. They also didn't charge us $10 a day extra for an additional driver. If you need to rent a car in TV, I highly recommend Hertz.

And that is why Hertz is #1. Yes, they are usually a little higher priced but I've found they are well worth it.

Ah yes. Customer service always goes a long way. In my business it separates me from the entire bunch.

Thank you for the post. We were just thinking about renting a car for fun like a convertible or sports car. We will not be calling Enterprise now.

Enterprise is fine at all other locations except this TV office. I guess they think they have a cornered market (their prices are always a lot higher than in other area cities where Enterprise has offices), but I'm sure people here will let them know by voting with their wallet.

For a long term rental, always call the Leesburg Enterprise office to check rates. They're always lower than in TV and the airport vans/drivers can take you there.

The TV office employees illustrate what is wrong with our country's work ethic and weakening economy. They need their b&tts kicked.
