Default Pool Construction

Hello All,
We are going to build a pool soon. T&D was contacted. I had heard great things about them but they have not been very responsive. Has anyone else had a good experience with a pool builder (other than T&D) in the area? Is there anyone we should stay away from? Thanks!

I don't understand why you are building a pool with so many near by?

Best wishes though.

I can't speak for the original post but for us it was all about a preference to have our own pool. And I can give you three reasons most important to us:
1. We are free to use the pool when we want, no hours
2. Do not have to worry about what pool to go to when family is in town
3. Because of my wife's health she prefers a higher water temp than the area pools have

I will post again that United Pool and Spa built our pool in the Villages seven years ago. In my opinion, that was the worst construction nightmare I've had in my 62 years. When the pool was finally completed it was a nice pool. Getting it built was heartache for me.

Within a year, the pool walls began to discolor. At first they said it was my fault, then 183 days later they finally came to make it right. By that time, I had already paid somebody else to fix it.

Other people may have have a better experience with United Pool and Spa.

Again, this material is my opinion.

That's surprising since most have had good things to say about T&D. Keep us posted since I was planning on using them when I move.

United Pool is not same as T&D. They are more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for..

I am confused. Who is more expensive . . . T&D or United? Do you have personal experience with either one? I am going to have a pool built soon and could really use some advice myself.

When I built my pool 5 years ago T&D offered the best price, better than United and another company I've since forgotten. Then I heard that someone had contracted to build their pool with United and the job was still not complete 8 months later. So I dropped United. I went with T&D and still am very pleased. My pool, spa, birdcage was completed in less than 10 weeks with two multi-day work shutdowns due to hurricane warnings.

I see what you are saying.. I meant that T&D might be more expensive than other companies, but you get what you pay for. T&D will telll you I believe 5-8 weeks for completion. And that is what will happen, and in most cases closer to 5 weeks depending on the pool size and type of cage going in and all that. Also T&D will take care of all permitting and all paperwork with the ARC here in The Villages for the homeowner. We deal with alot of the pool companies in The VIllages. By far T&D is the best when it comes to being up front, job done in a timely fashion and job site cleaning. If there is a problem with the job, Mr. Yoder will make sure it is done right!!

another company is putting a pool where I live, and it is taking them along time. I would use T&D if I was installing a pool at my house. Nate Yoder is the man that runs the deal. Great Guy..

Yes they may be slightly higher in price and finish the job on time or early as they did in our case but they will be there from start to finish and give you a great finished product.
That was not so for a couple of folks we know who both hired different lower priced pool companies. Both ended up going out of business in the middle of the projects.
