In the Home Improvement Directory [https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...Directory.php] you can see the Number of Stars a contractor is rated, but when you click on the "Create/Read Reviews" button it pops up a new page with the vedor's Ad Poster and a note in the upper right corner that states the Join Date and the Number of Posts.
While I see many posts noted for most vendors (ie, 30-400) I can find no way to access any of them. I have clicked on every imaginable link on this page but nothing takes you to an area where the various posts can be seen. I find it hard to believe that vendor related comments are not viewable, but if they are, they are the hardest to locate I have every experienced. How does one access posted vendor reviews and comments? |

When I go to that section and click on read/create, it does take me to the vendor's ad. But if I scroll down below the ad, I get to the reviews.

OP< I agree with you, just tried the above suggestion, on Lenhart Electric (406 posts), and all I see is the ad, and I scrolled to the bottom of the page. As I recall I came across this problem before, never found a solution, and I gave up.
ADMIN: are we missing something?

I also have trouble finding the posted letters. Try going to the top of the page click on search and enter the contractors name click on post, this will give you a more accurate rating. Some of the Star ratings are family and friends, all signing up a posting only once. Check the post from posters you know and trust from TOTV.

I went back to the section and randomly looked for reviews on different vendors in different categories. The first several I went to the reviews were all there by scrolling down below the ad. Then, oops, nothing below the ad. I wonder if some people just give the star rating and no text explaining their experience.

For instance one of the first vendor ads (for Daniel'S Heating and A/C) has lots of comments, while Lenhart Electric, right below it, has no reviews posted. It turns out it is easy to tell right away as when you click on the "Create/Read Reviews" button and the vendor page pops up, look right above the big vendor ad and you will see a frame titled "Ad poster...". If that window is empty there have been no posts, but when the window has a conversation tree displayed then there are comments and clicking on the Next link will take you to the first comment and subsequent ones. This works every time. [:-)} |

I thought I was going crazy since I believed what you were seeing (or not seeing) and every time I tried it I got a list of reviews. So I was glad when I finally hit some that had no reviews showing. You start to wonder if it's just unique to a computer/internet service or ???

Thanks for all of the comments, it appears that I was lucky(?) enough that all of the specific vendors I was looking at had NO comments. They also did not get my business because there were NO comments.
