Looking for a local business to review and prepare our taxes. We are prepared to support the TOTV sponsor but would also like to get any other recommendations.

My wife Barbara works at the Lady Lake H&R Block office (5228 N. Hwy 27). She's been doing taxes for many years now. When we were living in Maryland she used to specialize in doing military personnel tax returns, which require knowledge of all state taxes. Most of the H&R Block offices, around TV, are a locally owned franchise and give quality personal service to all of their clients. The H&R Block training & tax preparation programs are top notch, giving you all the possible refunds you're entitled to.

I second the opinion above. I have accounting degree and worked part time for H&R for 10 years. I know first. Hand that CPA's send their staff to H&R classes for training. I will be volunteering with AARP in The Villages doing taxes this year, which is another option. I passed the CPA test years ago but amnolonger licensed. Paying a CPA a very hig fee to do taxes because you are impressed withtheletters CPA is nuts,IMHO.
