Default Installation of whirlpool tub

Hi, we have a standard tub in the guest bathroom. We saw a whirlpool bathtub at Lowe's that we would like to have installed. Not sure if it can be done and we would like to find someone experienced and reliable to have it installed for us. Does anyone know of a contractor who could do this.

The tub is 60 in L x 32 in W x 19 in H. The problem is that our original tub is 58 in L and not sure if it can be done. I tried uploading a photo of the whirlpool bathtub but it will not load. Sorry.

Over the years I have used Lowes to do garage doors, openers and several hot water heaters and found their installers to be top drawer people. They were not very expensive. As far as your tub measurements have no worry, they can make it work.

Get a list from Lowe's, then contact one or more and ask for references that you can call about their work. Follow this up with a call to senior against crime. Also make sure they are licensed and insured. License will need to cover both plumbing and electrical (I am guessing you will need a new dedicated electrical circuit to the new whirlpool tub). NOTE: as I understand it the Lowe's contractors is just a referral service, and they are not employed by Lowe's so if something goes wrong you will be dealing with the contractor. Make sure they are reliable and insured.
As for the 2 inch difference, our house has a 2 inch extension on the one wall to meet the existing tub, if yours has this also, then the 60 inch tub will probably fit. Be aware that installation may require the removal of one wall to get the old tub out and the new tub in. Also if the drains do not line up, you will be in for some significant cutting in the foundation to adjust the existing plumbing.
Good luck with your project, let us know how it comes out.
