I use Massey for $40 per quarter to maintain the system. If I need a repair, it is done quickly for a very reasonable cost. If you don't have a regular service, it could be difficult to get someone to come to your house, and you will have no idea how much they will charge for a one time visit. To me, if you have 2 or 3 broken sprinkler heads during year, a regular maintenance service provides peace of mind. This is especially true for snowbirds.

You do not state what is wrong with the irrigation. I just repaired a leak, and a bad spray head myself, and it was fairly easy, even with my bad knee. I have found ACE to be very helpful to get the right parts, and if you have ever glued PVC, you should be able to do this yourself. The biggest trick is getting the spray pattern correct once you have replaced the spray head.
If you have a lawn maintenance company, many times they will have a yearly sprinkler system check, as well as a repair service.

We just had a VERY difficult to get to sprinkler line repair done by Brian Shank (352) 516-3041 and couldn't be happier. It was not inexpensive due to the extensive digging involved but Brian was here the same day we called and a few hours later we were back in business.

Default Do you also have to have lawncare through Massey in order to have their irrigation.

I have their lawn care (mowing and fertilizing), but I don't think it is necessary.

Agree about ACE ! They use the phrase "Ace the helpful place" but usually that kind of saying is only a gimmick ! But with Ace, I can't believe how helpful they are, help even with HOW to repair things, etc.
