Default Granite countertops

The home we just purchased has granite countertops and I noticed that there are small rough chips within the granite. Is this normal? I also heard that some granite tops require resealing. Did anyone ever have this done? Thank you.

If you are talking about little pits or "holes," this is normal. The better the quality of granite, the fewer of these there will be, but it is not a defect. All granite has some of these.

Small pits are normal not chips. Granite should be sealed every so often. Ask a professional about what to use and how often it should be done.

Thank you. At least I know the pits are normal and part of the granite.
