Default on-line home insurance quotes

I am hoping to compare home insurance quotes on-line but each time I try a website I end up answering loads of questions only to be told that, before they can give me the quote, they will need to talk with me to get more information.

If I wanted to talk to every possible insurance company I would call them, but I just want to see their quotes on-line.

Have you used such a website that you can recommend?

Thank you

If you don't want to use one of the Villages insurance brokers who represent multiple insurance companies, I would suggest going to the Clark Howard website at clark.com. He has a lot of information and advice about the best and worst companies. But, I don't think you will get a firm, dependable price from a website without actually talking to an agent. There are just too many variables.

How can you buy without reading what you are buying. Read the policy. Know the exclusions. WOW!!!

A good lead, thank you, retiredguy.

Unfortunately his two top picks are not good as USAA is only available to the "military-related" and Amica doesn't write home cover in Florida.

There is, however, plenty of useful information for me to digest.

Yes, and you may want to ask about sinkhole coverage. We always get several unrequested "quotes" from companies around the anniversary date of our coverage. Not one mentions sinkholes in the low rates they seemingly offer.
