My grandfather always taught me that a SHARP tool was a good tool, and then he taught me how to sharpen these tools. You could shave with his chisels! Mine are close, but not quite that good.

I sharpen my own knives using a sharpening steel.

Believe it or not, you can use the bottom edge of an unglazed ceramic (not porcelain) coffee mug or small bowl to sharpen a knife.
