Default Lanai Enclosures

Last winter my husband and I did a good bit of research getting various estimates for enclosing our lanai. We made our final decision to go with D & D Aluminum because, first of all, they were highly recommended to us and secondly, upon an estimate by them (Darryl) we liked what he told us and he was extremely accommodating as to what we wanted and our concerns. Unfortunately, he never came back to finish the job! Oh, the glass windows went it and it looks very pretty to the naked eye but he NEVER returned to caulk AROUND the windows. We, unfortunately, had paid him before we realized that the job was not completed. When he left that day he assured us that we could contact him with ANY issue and he would comply. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. I called him, my husband called him, I texted and emailed him. HOW FRUSTRATING. Please save yourself the aggravation and do NOT use D & D Aluminum!!

Did you receive these High recommmendations for D&D Aluminum from TOTV posters...I dont think so...Never heard of this company or ever recall this companys name mentioned on TOTV.

Its unfortunate that D&D is not returning your calls for it sounds like an easy fix for them. Are you getting any water seeping through the windows?? If not yet, you will soon find out when the summer storm season starts up and we have T-Storms accompanied by 30-40 mph winds. Newly installed windows , if they are not caulked properly will leak like a sive! If I were you I would get a hose out NOW, and simply hose down the windows directly and see if any leaks develop. Better to find it now than during a storm or worst when you are away for a period of time and the come back to a mess. Hopefully your problem is just cosmetic.

To gain and learn from these boards you really need to participate in more discussion rather than simply using your first (or in this case second)post to write a negative comment about a local contractor.

I AGREE !! DO NOT use D & D Construction. I had the same problem re; caulking the windows and we also had to call about 10 times before he came back to finish it!! They also overcharged us $2.000 more that another estimate. (I couldn't persuade my husband to use the other company !! :-( They are terrible !
