Default Lawn Care Fertigator versus Deans

Hello Villagers. Happy Monday

I just finished my contract with Superior. They were good on the pest control side of things but very disappointed in their lawn care services.

I have interviewed a few companies, and I am down to 2 - Fertigator and Deans. Both are within $10 of each other for my specific home. So, price is not the issue.

Can someone give me their constructive feedback on either or both if you are using them or have used them in the past.

If you are using Fertigator, did you install the tank to your irrigation system to auto fertilize your lawn in addition to what they do manually. Like? Don't like? Why?

Thanks for the feedback.

Have a blessed day

Been with Fertigator for over 12 years.
My lawn speaks volumes.
Fact...................best lawn on the street. Period.

Fertigator installed the tank, not me.
Love the concept, a little magic juice everytime I water.
They do a nice job with manual spraying.......landscape, bushes, yard.
They take care of my palms as well.

I've seen neighbors use Deans and leave Deans.

Good Luck.

Some times it’s not so much the company but the Tech for your home. 4 houses one with fertigator 3 deans.

Two years great lawn with Fertigator, then new tech. Within 4 months our close to perfect lawn was worst on the street weeds everywhere.
The day we were doing outside work, supposedly we had a lawn treatment, with a description of lawn and application. I called said nobody was here. Within an hour tech called said I am at your house where are you. Guess what 7 houses down. Admit there must have been miscommunication, but refused to credit us for 3 applications. No refund even with admission they treated the wrong house. We dropped them.

We had the same tech for other 3 houses, with Deans. Lawns have looked great more than 15 years. New house was Massey through builder. From day one the lawn looked dead, never improved for 11 months. We switched to Deans for new house, within 2 months we had 70% improvements, in the back and sides of house. Front still needs work, tech suggested topsoil ( included what to buy and how much) to help with the distress and rock hard ground.

So try the tech you feel comfortable with, don’t pay upfront, and hopefully you will have a great lawn providing the dirt underneath isn’t full of rocks, cans, bottles, plastic and roofing material. Yes there are lawns that have builders debris under 2 inches of grade.

I went through the same process as you last winter, and after considering several companies I chose Fertigator. In just three short months the positive difference in our lawn is already very noticeable. I decided to consolidate our lawn service, pest control service, and irrigation services all into one company, and for the first time ever, we are also having our shrubs included in the service. So far, we are very pleased : ) I opted not to get the service where they apply stuff through our irrigation system because I am very careful not to let anything besides potable water or rain water get into our pool (we live north of 466 where the irrigation water and our potable house water is one in the same). I’m not one that feels the need to have the best looking lawn in the neighborhood, I just want our lawn to look reasonably good and not pay a fortune to do so. Fertigator seems to be taking care of that for us.

Just to give another option, our neighbor used Massey for years. It was always sparce and weedy. Recently switch to Greensmith's Lawn Service. Their lawn looks amazing now.

Wouldn't you just love to do a chemical check on what's in those big tanks on the trucks that there
spraying our lawns with??
Probably pure water with a cup lemonade.

Many neighbors were using Fertigator. All have now switched to Deans.

We use Sunday (all natural) on two lawns. You send in a soil sample from 6-8 areas of the lawn. Of course sand, but our soil was extremely healthy except for our front yard.

Sunday has No chemicals, so doesn’t effect pets or pool. Hook up to a hose and spray. First 2 years very affordable, great customer service for any questions or problems. However the third year prices doubled so we switched to Deans, which was less money for 6 applications compared to 4, and I didn’t have to cart around a hose. We didn’t have great improvements on the front lawn with Sunday, but Deans is bringing front to a healthier lawn.

If you have a dog, I would choose Dean's. With Fertigator your dog is walking on chemicals more often, which can be absorbed into their tiny body.

Superior is the ONLY company that demands a contract. Leave them asap. I agree with the prior post. It’s all about the tech that does your lawn, more than the company. We have had good luck with Fertigator and their extra tank.

Fertigator hands down. Dumped Superior, Dean's, and Massey. Fertigator is so much better.

When we purchased our home last fall it had Massey services. The lawn looked terrible, and so did the other lawns on our street that used Massey. I called and signed up with True Green.. Sure enough the lawn look good within 90 days.. Then this spring, with the draught, and warm weather the chinch bugs hit. I called and True Green said well have someone at your place Tuesday.. Tuesday came and no one showed up. I called and corporate said well have one one there this Friday..

Thursday came and I got a call from the local Lady Lake True Green and he stated we do not treat lawns for Chinch bugs until mid May.. So I canceled True Green and started doing it myself.. Guess what one spraying for chinch bugs, and one application of fertilizer and my lawn look much better.

I own five houses in the villages and I’ve had Deans Do all of them. I’ve had a rock through my garage window from their weedeater many sprinklers broke and pushed down from lawn mowers riding on them, which would be from anybody probably. They broke my landscaping wall with their lawnmower. And who knows what else they’ve done. Not happy with Deans at all don’t know nothing about Florida gator but my neighbor use them and seem to be happy with them.they are in and out of my yard in 10 minutes or less.
When I did call and bring these damages to their attention, they did come out and fix it

Had Fertigator and switched to Deans because of the chemicals applied every time my lawn was watered. It is not good for my dog.

My yard looks good and I am pleased with Deans.
