Default Need Fridge repair: Showtime - Becks - Thibodeau - or ?

Five year old LG double door fridge stopped cooling. Appliances are not in my wheelhouse.

Searched forums - Showtime / Becks / Thibodeau float to the top with positive popularity.

I'm leaning towards Showtime as my first to call in the a.m.

Any negatives regarding the 3 listed above?

Are there other appliance repair folks who shine bright?

I have used Beck's and would recommend them.

There is also Bob's, 352-897-3620, and Field's, 407-299-2040. Field's is the Whirlpool warranty repair company.

Thibodeau. Had dishwasher that stopped working. Call Thibodeau and he was out within a half hour. Great service. Very nice personality. Very pleased.

Another vote for Thibodeau. He came out the same day to fix our refrigerator at a very reasonable cost.

I used Showtime for my LG refrigerator repair a couple years ago. I was pleased with the service I got.

Thanks everyone - it’s great getting direct feedback from customers. Lots of value in that.

I will close out this post with my results after this adventure is over.

This will come in handy for those who are in need - and take the time to search the forums before posting.

Just as an FYI, It may be the Control Board or also called "Jazz Board" that has gone wrong. Quite common part to fail. Shouldn't cost too much if that's what it is.

Thank you. Im thinking it might be something “simple” something “easy”. Like what u mentioned or the compressor.

It’s not the fuse as I did check that. I also vacuum the coils/fan every year to maximize air circulation.

It failed Monday…well I realized Monday that the fridge/freezer temps were going up. Called Tuesday morning - first look will be today (Wednesday) in the p.m.

I’m already a happy customer with a pretty quick response.

Details to follow….

LG sent Showtime to repair ice maker under warranty and the repair gentleman that came was on time, pleasant and did his job within 15 mins he was in and out. I added this company to my contacts.

Google "LG Class Action" They have a known problem with the compressor. Long story of parts being unavailable, and service people who work on LG being scarce, but after fighting for almost a year, LG paid for a new fridge.

The compressor is soldered in place. So replacing it is difficult. Also, LG requires a new mother board and program to be installed. The word is, they replace the compressor with an identical one, but use a new program that doesn't run it so hard.

Good luck!
