I usually get three bids, but when it came to selecting a local mover (ie from one village to another) I just called Village Mover. The owner is Mike Collop, and he is also former USMC. Mike is “squared away,” honest, fair and runs a very efficient business.

By way of example, he gave me a quote about six weeks ago with an in-person visit to our former home. But, my wife and I ended up moving a LOT of stuff on our own by shuttling back and forth. I explained that to Mike and he adjusted the price down by about a 1/3. My circumstances were somewhat unique, but it makes the point.

His crew did an excellent job … very careful and no breakage. Mike Collop, the Village Mover, works out of Fruitland Park, and his number is 352.751.2750.

When asked before here for someone to help unload, I told people to PM Ladydoc on this forum as she had given us the name of two really great guy from Orlando who helped us move the stuff into our house from the POD.

I lost their number and she has too.
