Exclamation Village Palms Landscaping

Beware of this contactor. All they care about is getting your money and running. They built a water feature in our front yard and it leaks. I need to put in about 50-100 gallons a day just to keep the pump under water. Village Palms says it is just evaporation. Very strange since we have a large pool in the back yard with a 40 foot water feature and it does not lose any water. If they do respond to my complaint, they say it does not leak!! Just ask any of my neighbors if you do not believe me. Currently contracting with a profession pond contractor to repair/replace what Village Palms has done. There are many other quality contractors, just beware of this one.

We had a wonderful major landscape job performed by Village Palms in late March and couldn't be happier. No water feature but concrete patio, wall and many palms in our side yard on a corner lot. They were wonderful to work with and very accommodating.
Sorry you are having trouble with your water feature.

I have had much landscaping done by Villages Palms Landscaping, including a pond and waterfall about two years ago. They have done consisderable work for me since as well. I have never received anything but excellent customer service from them and any problems I had were fixed within a week. They replaced a pond pump, at no charge, considerably after any warranty would have expired. Yes, my pond does evaporate, that's normal. They hve been shown super responsibility and been very accomodating. From the attitude of your piece I am le to believe that you have not given them a chance. In nearly 3 years I can't guess how many contractors have been on my property, and if just half of them were as satisfactory as Villages Palms it would have been a very pleasdsant experience - theirs was the only one out of all of them I'd even recommend. Bill and Wendy are, in my estimation, "the best of the best". My corner lot is a neighborhood stand-out due to their oiutstanding design and work.

In May we had Village Palms do some landscaping for us. Our house in Santo Domingo is 14 years old and the plants were old and some were just to large. They came up with a plan to add some new shrubbery and palms to be integrated with the best existing plants. They were there 2 days and when they were done you never knew they were there. While they were there they did additional work that was beyond the scope of our agreement with no additional charge. Fixed what leaks I had and repaired a couple of broken sprinkler heads. Never even asked for money until a couple of days later when mark called to see if we were happy. Based on my experience I would have no probably recommending them.

Default Not so good experience

My neighbors had a not so good experience with Village Palms. They had their landscaping done by them and were unhappy. Then, they hired them to put a new palm tree in their backyard. Village Palm quoted them a price, X amount of dollars, delivered. To me, that means planted. Then after they planted it they said it would be 60.00 more. Our neighbors asked why 60.00 more? They said that that was for the mulch around it and to plant it in the ground. Doesn't seem like they were very up front to me. Oh, and the tree was planted crooked.

This sounds like the type of experience we have had with them too. These are great people that treat their employees and customers like gold.

Here we go again with a first time poster. Right out of the starting block they want to complain. CHILL OUT. Most people (me and three of my neighbors on a seven house cul-de-sac agree Village Palm does excellent work. If there is something to complain about, I'm sure Wendy will do whatever it takes to make you happy.

Mr. G.,
You need to tell the whole story. We at Village Palms have been to your home every time you've called. We have been there 5 times just for the bubbling brook. Then it was loosing 1/2 inch of water a day. Carl and Whitey found where someone stepped on the side causing water to trickle the wrong way. We have replaced Purple Fountain Grass, Japanese Blueberry Tree and the Bamboo in March. I have had no knowledge that you are loosing 100 gal. a day, I wish you would have called.
If this will make things better, send us the bill from this other contractor (740 County Road 466, Lady Lake, Florida 32159), and we will pay a portion. This is a very damaging post, and that's not who we are. We believe in customer satisfaction and stand behind everything we do. Our customers are our voice in the community and to see this post was shocking for all of us at Village Palms. A simple phone call to us could of resolved this situation rather then venting in such a public forum without even notifying us of your problem. Please know we would love to solve your issue, but we need to know there is one. Thank you to our loyal satisfied customers we appreciate you.

Seems to me that there are 2 sides to the story and the better and full one was not orginally told. I commend Village Palms for this response, "we'll pay for the final fix" and all of the other replacing of plants . That's the type of business I'd like to deal with! Not every project goes perfect , but you have to give the contractor a chance to work it out. Or, if all fixes fail, negotiate a settlement. In our neighborhood Village Palms has a good reputation, and you don't build that by not trying to make things right or delivering a poor product.

As an aside, I have to agree with an earlier poster that a complaint as a first time post should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

[QUOTE=majgulick;515818]Beware of this contactor. All they care about is getting your money and running.

She is a neighbor of mine, I would like to call her a friend, but they are too darned busy trying to build a reputable business right here in TV where they LIVE, to have time to socialize!

Do you really think that someone who lives in TV is going to do a miserable job and walk away from it - where are they going to run to? You are ruining the reputation of decent people and in my "humble" opinion, you should meet with them and get this problem sorted out to everyone's satisfaction instead of putting it out there on this forum!

Any water feature in this kind of heat really evaporates water. We have to fill our fountain everyday.
