We had our's installed today thru Lowe's. The installer comes to your home and builds the unit. $359 complete. Looks nice and it's a whole lot better then having to open a storm and screen door every time you want to come in. We're thrilled

You might try Michelle's Screens. She's been in business for some years and retractable screens are her specialty. Ours is several years old, cost about the same as the Lowe's price quoted above, and is of higher quality than a couple of other screens I've seen. Service is good too. She came out and adjusted the screen once when she was "in the neighborhood", at no charge.

We also used Michelle's Hide-Away Screens - (352) 236-8869 We are very happy with our door!

One note: These are not for households with pets. One bounce on the inside will release the door. Curious animals could push their way out easily.

Default screens

We used Michelle's also. Love the door and they install for great price and you can choose the door color in your home and not at the store. I am sure Lowe's is great also but this is easy and it is a great door. On pets...we have a 30lb cat and we had a lock put in at the bottom third of the door. They can not open the door with the lock on...this does not mean that a large dog might not jump through the screen. Good news..it won't hurt the screen..bad news...the dog is out. I do not know if this would happen...our cat had never tired to jump through the screen .

We loved our retractable screen. Unfortunately, my Siamese knows how to escape by pushing on the bottom (which is purposely unfastened) and has thwarted all our efforts to avoid it. Therefore, it has been used very little and we would sell it for a fraction of the price we paid. It was from Michelle's Screens and you would need someone to install it for you, I suppose.

How wide is it? We're thinking of installing one between the laundry room and garage to cut down on the flying bugs that get in.

The doorway in which it is installed is 36" wide.
