Unhappy Masseys?

Does anyone use Masseys for lawn care or/and pest control service? My neighbor uses them and feels that she is being over charged. She feels that their prices are very high, compared to most places. I uset to use them also, but our prices were different. If you use them or ever have, what did you pay?

We use Massey for pest and weed control, for pest control around the exterior of the home and we also use them for irrigation and I can tell you that every time they come my other half complains bitterly about the cost to which I reply "then do it yourself". Which is usually the last I hear of his complaining.

So are they really too expensive, I really don't know, all I know is that since they became our provider I have not seen a bug in the house, my grass looks great, my irrigation works great. If there is a problem they come out immediately and if you really have a problem they will send a fast talking salesman to the house who will sit and explain in detail what you are paying for!!!

Would I like to pay less - of course, but the small saving in switching would not be worth the uncertainty to me. I take it as part of the price of living in the south.

I would add that my snowbird neighbor over watered their lawn last summer when it rained continually and when they returned in the fall Massey were there every day until they got things sorted out.

Lawn services are like cable tv providers, what you pay depends on the services used. We have used Massey since we owned our house. The first couple of years we were part-timers and wanted a service that would be there even if we were not. Massey provides all of the services except mowing. No complaints here.

I compare what others advertise to my current cost for Massey and Massey's cost seem to be inline. My only complaint is they give bigger discounts to new customers than to renewing customers. To me this should be the other way around! Reward loyalty of your existing customers.

Reward loyalty of your existing customers. And, as Massey customers, this could be our problem. Maybe we should call in one of their fast talking salesmen and tell them just that - hey I have been a loyal customer for x years and I am staying with you, so give me the break you are offering to someone who will probably stay with you for a year and then move on to a different company!

I have used Massey for three years and find them to be a reliable company. They respond quickly to customer concerns regarding pest control. Their fertilizing service seems to be ok, as I am told, I have one of the best lawns in my neighborhood.

I will say that one of their people noticed some sprinklers not working, so he knocked on my door and gave me an estimate to repair. It was way overpriced and had a service contract that I specifically requested not to include in his pricing. Needless to say, they didn't get that job.

Until someone comes along that is proven better service and cheaper, I will continue to use them.

BTW - For sprinklers, Jim Baumgartner is the best!!! 352.504.2317

I fired Massey for massive incompetence, at outrageous prices for my large lot.

Then went to Stellar and while they were an improvement, when they became Service Smart they are now worse than Massey was.

I'm about to can Service Smart and try someone different, but I'll be darned if I know who that will be yet.

Smile Living with it

We use Massey and after seeing our last bill was on the verge to change. Sat with another company and they wanted a lot of money on a one time basis and then level out price. Determined it would ake me about 4 years to pay for their up front money. Net: said what the heck and stayed with Massey for pest control and lawn.

I'm looking for a reasonable pest control and lawn service. I had Massey come out then compared my price with my neighbor. same model same yard. My price was much higher. What gives? Shouldn't same service be the same price? Having Falcon out today.

You think Massey is high? Wait'll you see Falcon's estimate. Plus, if you go with Falcon for lawn mowing, you are required to pay for weed control in landscaped areas/flowers beds, etc., to the tune of $20 a month, just for that service.

We've had good experience so far with Massey for Pest Control (inside & outside) & Sprinkler Irrigation Maintenance. We didn't get price quotes from other companies, so don't know how their costs xo,pare.

We asked our Massey Salesman about grass cutting & he said Massey is more expensive. We have KB Lawn & Landscaping cut our grass.

We had Massey, changed to Dean's. We are much happier. The workers are more friendly and willing to listen to your concerns. I don't remember how much Massey was, but are happy with Dean's.
