Default Garage-Driveway-Lanai Coating

We decided to go with Ed Dugan. He's done alot of homes here in Amelia and Hadley and I've spoked with several customers who liked what he did. Thanks everyone for your advice... Does anyone have any recommendations on who I can get to coat my Concrete. Also approx how much should I pay? Our home is a Begonia with a golf cart garage. Standard Lanai... Thanks for your advice...

Ron,

A number of us have used Amy Newsom to do lanai, walkway, driveway coatings with artistic design. Her # is 308-7410

Of course, you'll need to get a specific quote, but, for planning purposes she "was" charging about $1.55/sq ft. This was for a lanai job.

I would suggest "COST-LESS_DRIVEWAYS" . They use a 3 step process that takes 3 days. Acid wash your garage, apply stain and speckle, finish with lined borders or any design you select. WE had a designer garage with golf cart garage (approx 750 sq ft) for $650...excellent job!

Check out the November issue of the VHA Newsletter. They carried a very good article on what to do and not to do in relation to driveway sealers, pavers, etc. There are plenty of good, reputable firms around who do this kind of work but this particular industry is also riddled with scam artists so exercise your "due diligence".

Bryan, is the VHA article that you spoke about available online? I would love to see it. Thanks.

Update: Don't bother Bryan. I found it. It just took a quick google.

Can't give you a name as my person although they did a fantastic job, they required too much participation on my part. I will say however it is one of the best investments I believe I made, we did all of the cement, driveway, walk way, garage and lanai, would do it all again...GN

For those of you who asked about driveway sealers/pavers and about the VHA, here are the answers.

First, the VHA newsletter comes once each month as a supplement to The Villages Daily Sun. It is usually placed in the paper during the first week of each month. The November issues of their newsletter, called The Villagers Voice, came out in The Daily Sun in the November 3rd issue. The December issue is scheduled to be in the December 1st issue of The Daily Sun.

As far as I know, the VHA does not put their newsletter online on their web site. The VHA does have a web site that you can visit at http://www.thevha.net/. They do place some of their articles on their web site, most recently an article about Landscapers and one about IRS Tax Scams. I suspect the Driveway article will appear sooner or later. On their web site home page, on the left, is a column of links under the title Main Menu. Click on the "Valuable Links For Residents" link and it will take you where some of their newsletter articles are located. They are actually in the section titled Seniors Vs Crime.

For those who don't know it, the VHA is the Villages Homeowners Association, one of two organizations in TV that represents homeowners.

I hope that answered all the posts with questions and the PM's with questions. If not, send me another PM.

I must have had one of those "Senior Moments" or a bad case of CRS (Can't Remember Stuff) when I did my last post here. I was so focused on the links under Main Menu on the left side of the VHA Home Page that I ignored the links across the top of my screen, one of which was a link the their newsletter, The Villages Voice. You can click on that link, click on the November issue, and look for the article titled "Spruce Up Your Driveway, Buddy". That is the article I was referring to.

784 do you recall how long ago you had your garage coated? That's sounds like an excellent price. Our garage is probably about the same size, designer w/golf cart garage.
