Default Looking for an independent auto/house insurance agent

Currently have AAA, and I think I can do better. so I am looking for a agent that represents multiple insurance companies, so I can get, hopefully, and better rate.
Also, interested in anyone that has been able to beat AAA.

Thank you.

We've used The Villages Insurance agents in the past. They represent multiple agencies and will work with you to acquire multiple quotes.

For Auto insurance we have USAA. You must be a veteran, however, to apply.

Same here, Villages Insurance has worked well for us.

I often review my insurance and compare price and coverage with others. I switched my auto and homeowners from The Villages Insurance to AAA two years ago to save money and increase coverage. I've tried to find others that are cheaper than AAA and if I do I'll change again, but so far AAA beats everyone. Let us know if you find one please!

I have Geico for car and ASI through the Villages for home. Last November I went to AAA to see if they could do better with a combined or individual policies and they could not Improve on what I already had.

This statement is confusing to me. I'm go to AAA and the agent I work with DOES represent multiple insurance companies.

For example when we moved here, I went to AAA for insurances - house, car, golf cart. The AAA agent got me the lowest prices by using three different insurance companies.

A couple years later, the renewal for my car insurance went up about $100. I called the AAA agent, explained the increase, and simply asked if I'm getting all the discounts I'm entitled to with the current company. A few hours later she called back with a quote with a different company that matched my coverage and was at the same price I had been paying my current company. In other words, same coverage with no $100 increase.

Thanks to Villagetinker for starting this thread and to Champion6 for the info on AAA. Very timely! My auto insurance through the Villages office AAA came up for renewal with a $100 increase and as a result of this thread, I called the AAA number (listed on my policy) and over the phone, an agent was able to compare my coverage side by side to a few other carriers and got me a new policy for almost TWO HUNDRED dollars lower. It all went quickly and smoothly, and the new policy is with a well known carrier. So I am a happy camper, saved me time and money with one quick phone call from the comfort of my home.

Thanks guys!

Something to think about ... In the case of a major disaster, such as a hurricane or tornado, your insurance agency may not be able to handle the load of claims and may even go out of business. Local agencies are great for individual claims, but only the "big" boys will be able to handle a large number of claims.

That's not a problem here, ask those that were here when the tornado went thru taking homes and the roof of Mallory
