I heard that a handicapped vet had his driveway widened by a foot or so to get his wheel chair out easier and he was ordered to undo the widening. He sold his house later, I almost bought it.

A word of caution, there are contractors that will do the work and claim NO permits required, as noted above CHECK so you do not get caught. Once you get referrals (from here or else where), check with BBB and Seniors against crime for any complaints. Make sure you get the form signed that any liens against your property have been removed before final payment. Finially, call home warranty, and get the name of the original installer, and they may be interested in the project. Hope this helps.
