We have a house full of carpet and it needs to go! Actually 2 rooms and a hallway for now. We have had 2 estimates from 2 construction/remodeling companies and they were, IMO, ridiculously high. Does anyone know of a contractor who installs laminate flooring (and rips up the old carpet) ?

Why not buy it installed from a flooring dealer ?

You can try Home Depot or lowes , they do all kinds of work .Flooring is a huge part of there business. My daughter had solid wood flooring installed by Lowes and they did a great job. A lot of the contractors down here think everyone is loaded and some of the hit you with high prices. They are all very busy so if you don't take it someone else will. Both of those stores have a huge flooring section.

We have contracted East Coast Flooring to do a small computer room in our CYV.
They were very helpful and come highly recommended.

We took samples home and the man who came to measure had very helpful input that changed our selection (do to esthetics not product pricing).

We are setting up an installation in a few weeks and can report back after that. Should this go well we will do the entire unit as the carpet is a problem for us too.

P.S. They will take up the old carpet and prime the room for laminate- all included in the installation price that we found reasonable.

East Coast does not use Subs. They have more than one full time installation teams. Our install started this morning, we are doing living room dining room bedrooms and closets.

We had our carpet taken out and laminate put in by Wildwood Flooring. They did a great job and we were very happy with them.

We had carpet removed and tile installed by The Floor Shoppe. Great prices and loved the finished product. They will go down on the total they give you by $200 or so depending on your total. Good luck

just removed carpet from our bedroom in our up north home...did it myself good utility knife to cut into pieces so carpet and pad can go out with the trash..took few hours...not a big deal

Another vote for East Coast Flooring. They put down laminate in about 80% of our house and tile in the kitchen. They are very good, reasonably priced, and their follow up is exceptional. Their phone # is 352-307-9995.
