Default Need our Dryer serviced

Need help in finding a reputable firm to service our gas clothes dryer. Seems to take an awful long time to dry items.

Also, our dryer vent is shot straight up thru the attic. Any thoughts on this as being the problem?

Thanks for all input

How old is your home?

I had Fredericks Appliance Repair(750-1782) come out and clean out my dryer duct and clean out the lint inside under dryer itself. They got a lot of lint out of the duct going outside.

I was not having problems. I just heard that it was a thing to think about doing after 5-7 years. My house is 8 years and we wash and dry weekly.

It definitely sounds like the vent needs cleaning. We had the same issue up North. This is hard to do it yourself. Not sure who you would contact in TV.

One problem that hinders the drying of clothes is the length of the exhaust tube. The longer the vent tube, the less air flow... the less air flow, the longer it takes to dry clothes. One solution, although not the cheapest, is to install a booster fan in the dryer vent tube. This can be right above your dryer or in the attic. They run about $100 to $200 plus installations cost. Google "dryer booster fans" and you'll get all kinds of suppliers and prices. These will dramatically reduce your drying time.
