Default Need Recommendation for Day Laborer

We are moving to TV the first week in April and need recommendations for a place to hire one man to help unload furniture. Are there any day laborer or temporary service companies nearby that you recommend?

We're excited to finally become Villagers, and these last few days seem to drag on forever.

I would not mess with "day Laborers". Alot of people here have used "ARTHUR MARTIN" who offers a moving labor service. The numbers I have for him are 352-207-4896 (c) or 352-347-3420. He is very good and reliable!

Ask your realtor. They are a wealth of information.

Thanks, folks, for being so helpful. We posted this thread before we moved here to TV. We are all settled now, and no longer need a day laborer. But, keep adding your contacts and ideas, because someone else will be able to read this thread and it will help them!

Default moving assistance

I just tried both #'s listed for Arthur. The cell is disconnected and the other was a woman that said I had the wrong #. Bummer. We will also be needing help unloading the truck. We are using a "Less Than Load" freight van. I emailed Pat at Village Storage where we'll be storing stuff. The issue is that Less than Load folks are unable to tell us until the day before when the truck will arrive, scheduled for sometime between 10/1 to 10/9. If anyone has any ideas on how we can set some help up it would be appreciated. Raynan, if you have email contact for the gent, can you clarify his contact info or when in Oct he thinks he'll return? All this help is appreciated! I feel like this is the last hurdle we need to go thru (no, wait, we still need to buy the house and do the reverse process!). See you all very soon as we leave Denver in a few days!

Hi scrapple. I'm sorry but we didn't keep the info on Arthur because he wasn't going to be available BUT here is the number of the high school boys we used and they were great. Very efficient, fast and respectful of our home, our things and to us. I have recommended them alot since we used them on 9/3/10. Call Troy at 352-874-8958. They come after school hours which worked out great because our trailer was arriving between 2 and 3pm. The trailer arrived at 2, the boys arrived before 3:30 on a very hot, humid day. They emptied that 28ft trailer in 2 1/2 hours and only asked to use some space in the refrigerator for their Gatorade. Awesome. Good luck on your move.
