Hi all:
Can you all tell me if you also have trouble with ants? We live in Hadley since 2008 and have had ant problems from the beginning. We now have a large local company treating on a 3 month basis for $247 a year. They are not able to control them with just treating every three months. I have to call when I see them come back. I'm not liking it that doing it this way I have about a 6 week window without ants. They have lately been squirting sticky stuff in the corners that attracts the ants. These little pile of sticky stuff attract the ants and then the ants stick to it and I have dirty looking corners. If I drop a few crumbs on the kitchen floor, here they come again. They also appear in the crack between the driveway and the garage door building large mounds. I have to spray them myself in between treatments. Is it wrong of me to expect this company to rid me of ants, not to just hold them off until next time? The guy is coming tomorrow so I need some advise on what I should expect. Thanks. |

We used to have ants with another company treating as well. We switched to KGL Landscaping and they had to do a home banding treatment. Which is when you spray and and install a granular barrier approx. 3-4ft wide, along the entire perimeter of the outside of our home. This was the only way to kill and run any existing pesky ant beds and trails away. We just ran them off into my neighbors yard now. Sorry Tom. Also, if you are overwatering your beds it can wash away many spray treatments. I would give your company a chance to fix the problem first. Ask them about doing a granular barrier treatment along the base and perimeter of your home and along the perimeter of your property. Good Luck.

We had ants but thanks to fipronyl, no more bugs! This was passed on to me by a retired Orkin professional. We spray about every 6 weeks. Works for us! |
