We’re having a birdcage installed on the side of our extended garage, 24 x 18. I have a window on the garage I need removed and I need a door installed. Already has a header. The only person that I’ve been able to get in touch with so far is Docs Restorations. Just wanting more than one estimate, plus he seemed extremely high. It’s just hard to find people to work.

You probably need 1 or more permits, and I am not sure a carpenter maybe suited for this project, and yes it is not cheap, I am not sure the header for a window will be the same as the header for a door.

thanks for the reply. Yes the window header of 3 feet is the same for a door. I am probably just going to do without the door. Doc’s estimate of $5500 was absurd.

Good morning ive been a carpenter for 25 years and do side work. Plus a full time job. What kind of price did they give. And is your home concrete block or framed with vinyl side. Thanks maybe i cam help thanks and have a blessed day.
