Question Lawn Sprinkler repair question.

The company I'm using for lawn sprinkler maintenance and repair is eating me up with fees for service. Apparently the previous owner did a lot of this work himself and now I'm being told some heads are too high, some are too low, some are directed the wrong way and some need to be replaced.

I just paid almost $500 just for an "analysis" and some "adjustments" and now they want another $150 to replace seven of the heads and adjust the height of a few others.

All of this is on top of a great amount of money that I pay them for spraying my lawn for weeds and pests.

I'm looking for recommendations for a company that charges reasonable rates for maintenance and repair of lawn sprinkler systems.

Tri-County Landscape Contractors installed our sprinklers , relocated them after a landscaper messed everything up. They are a great company, fair prices and they do work for The Villages. I find that any company that works for the Villages is a good, fair reliable company. Their number is 352-399-2467. Ask for Scott.

I would call Precision landscaping. Very nice guy and VERY honest I would recommend him. Shane 352-322-5697. I'll bet he will come and look at no charge.

Jim Baumgartner. Great guy, reasonable rates and really, really knows his stuff. 352/504-2317

Thanks for the responses. I'm curious about how the prices run by the recommended companies.

I don't know how anyone could spend $500 for a sprinkler system analysis. Anyway, I second the recommendation for Jim Baumgartner. I have used his services several times on two different homes and have found him to be honest, reasonable and dependable. He will do an evaluation on your system and only charge you for the actual work he does for you.

It is hard to give prices for my sprinkler system work when your property might be bigger or smaller - have more landscaping or less landscaping, etc. YOU need to bring in several sprinkler people and get an estimate and go from there.

$500 is way to high for anyone. Are you using Massey or one of those all-service companies?

BTW: I use the Michael Edinger - 352-357-0628.. Great job and cheap prices.

If you have trouble getting in touch with Jim Baumgartner, another good one is Chip Parrish - (352) 516-2281.

Baumgartner is good but I feel he was expensive....called him from recommendation TOV and needed someone before I left town. Won't tell anyone what to charge for their labor but if I had the time to look around and get estimates I feel I could have saved significant money
