Default 3M window film

They are selling a window filter at Home Depot that "cuts" your electric by 30%. Not that the electric is so high here but does anyone know anything about this product?

Our neighbors had it installed on all of the windows in their home. It makes them look mirrored and makes it hard to see in and cuts down on heat entering.

I think I heard that doing so voids the warranty on the windows.

It must be a good thing, because this is their third home in TV. AND they have had three other homes in Florida before that.. I look up to them as savvy on all things Florida. That is one of the reasons we have no palms.

I have 3m tinting on my windows, put on by Underglass located south of 466 on 441/27. 352-753-5267.

3m gave me a warranty on my double paned windows.

Just to clarify, the warranty problem is not with double paned windows but with double pane "E-Glass" windows. BTW E-Glass windows already have a protective film/coating applied at the factory.

Some protective film is approved for E-Glass that will not void a manufacturers warranty or the film company itself will provide/extend the manufacturers warrany, while others are not. Window film can provide a great service to some people but this is not a case where you simply should not get the cheapest product out there. You need to ask specifics depending upon what type of windows you already have in your home..

Shoot. I thought this would be an easy question answered.
